The 2011 Violet Crown Festival moves to Burnet Road this year — you may know this location as the old Travis County Farmers Market site, by the Pour House Pub.
From the festival website: The festival “will feature arts and crafts vendors, family fun, children’s activities, live music, refreshments, and a very special event — the grand opening of the new farmer’s market.” Other activities at the fest include a gardening demonstration and some art-car building.
Admission is free for the festival, which is hosted by Violet Crown Community Works. Proceeds will benefit Urban Patchwork, a nonprofit CSA based in the Violet Crown area.
