AUSTIN HOUSING PLAN MEETING APRIL 25, 2016

Austinites are invited to weigh in on the development of an Austin Housing Plan that will establish numerical goals and strategies to help increase housing choices for all Austinites, and to share ideas to help address the shortage of housing that is affordable for low- to moderate-income residents.

Please attend the Austin Housing Plan meeting scheduled for Monday, April 25th, 6-8 PM at North Village Branch Library, 2520 Steck Ave.

“The Austin Housing Plan dialogue will center around these topics:

• How might the City ensure that the youth of today can afford to live in Austin in the future?
• Where should members of the workforce – who cook food, watch children, and care for the sick – be able to afford to live? How can the City positively influence and increase housing choice across the community for all residents?
• The cost of housing is inter-connected with community decisions around job access, parking, permitting, and housing types allowed. What actions should be taken now to impact housing availability today and in the future?”

A similar meeting was held April 6th at the NW Recreation Center. Several other meetings are scheduled for other dates and locations.
