A regular meeting that features a guest speaker on trees, officer and committee reports, and time to visit with various committees.

Village Shopping Center News

Anderson Lane mixed-use plan pulled off table for now.

Capital City Partners Inc. has withdrawn its application to rezone the Village Shopping Center on West Anderson Lane for vertical mixed-use development. The project had been scheduled to come before the Austin Planning Commission tonight. However, company partner Joe Lamy said he still intends to build a long-term project that will include more shops, housing and offices on the 12-acre site.

Upcoming Race through our Neighborhood

The Get Your Rear in Gear 5K and Kids 1K (http://www.getyourrearingear.com/) is scheduled for Sunday April 6, 2008. The Get Your Rear in Gear 5K and Kids K is presented by The Colon Cancer Coalition, a local non profit 501(c)3, RunTex, RaceWorks and other local sponsors. This event will draw about 300 runners to the Shoal Creek and Steck Ave. area.

Mild traffic congestion resulting in some inconvenience to you may be anticipated on race day. Runners will start gathering at 7:30am at 8015 Shoal Creek and the race will begin at 8:30 am on Shoal Creek. The route will utilize Shoal Creek to Cross Creek, Burnet, Ashdale and Steck Ave.

March General Meeting Postponed

The General meeting scheduled for March 4th has been postponed to April 1st, due to a conflict with the Texas primary and caucus. Flyers were distributed throughout the neighborhood announcing this schedule change and you can view the flyer here or click the image above.
