Media
The Media committee is chaired by Cheri Hartman (mediachair [at] nscna [dot] org). The Media committee’s responsibilities are to keep the NSCNA residents informed on current neighborhood issues including publication of a quarterly Newsletter as well as maintaining and updating the official NSCNA website.
There are six methods that we employ to communicate with the residents of the NSCNA.
- Official NSCNA website located at www.nscna.org. This is where all official messages from the NSCNA officers and board members are located.
- Official NSCNA discussion mailing list located at groups.yahoo.com/group/nscna/. This an open access discussion mailing list where all residents can post messages. The messages are posted and archived on the Yahoo website and residents can also have newly posted messages sent to them via email.
- Official NSCNA discussion forums located at www.nscna.org/forum/. This is a fully featured discussion area where residents can post messages on specific topics, such as asking for recommendations for certain services (plumbers, lawn care, etc). It also allows you to post images, conduct polls and add new topic categories as they arise.
- Official NSCNA newsletter. The newsletter brings news to the residents of the neighborhood who do not have Internet access available to them. It contains many interesting stories about the current topics affecting our residents, spotlights on yard of the month winners, as well as longtime members of the community. It also gives updates from the committees serving the neighborhood.
- General Membership Meetings. We hold general meetings 3 to 4 times a year to update the residents on current issues the NSCNA has been working on. See the Calendar for the next meeting time.
- Word of Mouth and Block Captains. The lowest-tech but equally effective method of communication. The above methods that the NSCNA uses to communicate with the residents is also passed along from neighbor to neighbor. Our safety committee Block Captains are also an effective method for delivering news to their close neighbors.
Newsletters
About once a quarter, the NSCNA publishes a newsletter that contains information related to the neighborhood and issues of concern of our members. If you are interested in advertising in our newsletter, please contact Cheri Hartman at newsletter @ nscna dot org
