The Austin City Council recently voted to ease restrictions on panhandling and camping in Austin. The changes, intended to decriminalize homelessness, went into effect July 1. The Austin Downtown Alliance is holding a forum on how Austin police will be interpreting and enforcing the new ordinances on Tuesday, July 23, from 5-6:30 p.m. at the Central Presbyterian Church, 200 E. Some 150 neighbors turned out for North Shoal Creek’s 19th annual July 4th parade and party. Attendees showed a lot of ingenuity and creativity decorating not only themselves but kiddos, pets, bikes, and strollers as well. The survey is an important part of North Shoal Creek’s planning process. You’ll be shown around 30 photos of various kinds of buildings, and you decide if they’re appropriate for our neighborhood and, if so, which parts of the neighborhood they’d fit in. It’ll take about 15 minutes.
