The Austin City Council recently voted to ease restrictions on panhandling and camping in Austin. The changes, intended to decriminalize homelessness, went into effect July 1. Some 150 neighbors turned out for North Shoal Creek’s 19th annual July 4th parade and party. Attendees showed a lot of ingenuity and creativity decorating not only themselves but kiddos, pets, bikes, and strollers as well. If you came, you could cool off with iced coffee from Epoch Coffee while catching up with friends you haven’t seen in a while. On June 8 and 9, volunteer members of the North Shoal Creek Neighborhood Association (NSCNA) Beautification Committee installed glass tile mosaic panels on the concrete columns on the North side of the Steck Avenue bridge over Shoal Creek, as shown here:
