Curbside Composting Collection comes to North Shoal Creek

Beginning the week of September 23, Austin Resource Recovery (ARR) will expand curbside composting collection to 53,000 additional homes, including those in our North Shoal Creek Neighborhood. This program collects food scraps, yard trimmings and food-soiled paper, which is turned into compost, and is part of the City of Austin’s Zero Waste goal to divert 90 percent of materials from landfills by 2040.

The Austin City Council recently voted to ease restrictions on panhandling and camping in Austin. The changes, intended to decriminalize homelessness, went into effect July 1. North Shoal Creek’s 2019 July 4th Parade and Celebration a success

Some 150 neighbors turned out for North Shoal Creek’s 19th annual July 4th parade and party. Attendees showed a lot of ingenuity and creativity decorating not only themselves but kiddos, pets, bikes, and strollers as well.
