NSC Community Garden Selected To Be Part of Austin Design Week

Thanks to Community Garden volunteers Sarah Brandon and Jennifer Noinaj, our North Shoal Creek Community Garden has been selected to be one of the tours in this year’s Austin Design Week. The event takes place on Thursday, November 8, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the garden which is located at 3025 Crosscreek (northwest corner of the Pillow campus).

IMPORTANT: VOLUNTEERS NEEDED TO HELP PLANT TREES IN NORTH SHOAL CREEK

When: Saturday October 27, 2018, 8am-2pm
Where: Pillow Elementary; 3025 Crosscreek Dr, Austin, TX 78757

Volunteers are needed to help fill mulch bags, deliver trees, and plant trees in the North Shoal Creek Neighborhood.  Volunteers, please bring work gloves, hats, sunscreen, and water

Pick-up trucks are also needed!

City Council voted this afternoon  (Aug. 9) to pass our plan on first reading, but also to delay the public hearing until August 23. While it’s good they passed it on first reading, this means that all of us who were at City Hall had to pack up and go home with our arguments against the Planning Commission changes unheard. On a 10-2 vote, the Austin Planning Commission approved the following changes to our plan at its June 12 meeting:

1) Change zoning along Steck Avenue to allow missing middle housing (missing middle housing includes duplexes, bungalow courts, carriage houses, courtyard apartments, live/work, and small multiplexes)
