Plastic Bags Forum Invitation from the City of Austin, Texas

On behalf of Austin Mayor Lee Leffingwell and Austin Resource Recovery, we invite you to join a pool of randomly selected SpeakUpAustin users for a special forum on the future of plastic and paper bags.

The forum will take place on Monday, January 30, at 6pm, at Austin City Hall in the Council Chambers.

During the forum, you will hear from City of Austin staff and key stakeholders about proposed strategies to address the impact plastic and paper bags have on the City’s waste stream and environment. You will hear presentations and have the chance to ask questions as well as discuss the issues with your fellow participants. You will also be able to express opinions verbally and via polling during the event.

The City will provide refreshments and validated parking in the City Hall Parking Garage; please bring your parking ticket into the meeting for validation. For more information or to RSVP, contact Larry Schooler, the event’s moderator and the City of Austin’s Community Engagement Consultant, at Larry.Schooler@austintexas.gov. We look forward to seeing you on the 30th!
