During Thursday night’s NSCNA Board of Directors meeting, the Board had to consider the status of the annual NSCNA Independence Day Parade and Celebration. We do not have a volunteer to coordinate the July 4 event.

On Monday, July 4, the North Shoal Creek Neighborhood Association will celebrate Independence Day with its annual parade for neighbors and friends of all ages.
Starting at 9:30 am, we’ll gather at Pillow Elementary. At 9:50, we’ll begin to line up for the parade, which starts at 10 am.

The Village at Anderson Lane and Link Coworking are hosting a series of three free outdoor concerts this summer, in the shopping center’s interior courtyard (the space behind Chipotle and Yumilicious).

In November 2009, NSCNA helped organize and run a rummage sale to help benefit the nearby North Village Library, which had its periodicals budget severely cut. The rummage sale raised enough money to buy subscriptions for all the newspapers and magazines the library requested for 2010.

On Tuesday, December 21, the NSCNA Social Committee sponsored a Luminaria Walk at Pillow Elementary, starting at 6 pm. Amelia Cobb headed up this event, assisted by neighbors who helped her put up and take down two circles of luminaries around the Pillow Elementary track. The 500 luminaries were made from candles and white paper bags.
