  • WE NEED YOUR HELP DIGGING IT!

    Our next workday is Saturday, May 20th

     9:00 AM to Noon

    The plan is to start a compost pile and begin putting in a drip irrigation system.  Of course, we’ll also do some digging.

    PLEASE COME HELP!

    To volunteer, just email Sarah Brandon at gardenchair@nscna.org and tell her you’ll be there.

  • Construction of the sidewalks selected as highest priority in our North Shoal Creek Neighborhood Partnering Project is scheduled to begin on May 8th and is expected to take about 3 weeks to complete.

    The construction is one phase of a larger Neighborhood Partnering Program project to address sidewalk gaps

    • on the south side of Penny Lane from Rockwood to Briarwood;
    • on the south side of Crosscreek from Shoal Creek to Millway;
    • on the north side of Rockwood from Primrose to Burnet; and
    • at the intersection of Thrushwood and McCann.

    The City’s Public Works Department will try to contact residents living near the new sidewalk locations shortly before construction begins to discuss sidewalk location or property issues.

    For more information, please contact Project Manager John Eastman, City of Austin Public Works Department at 512-974-7025 or John.Eastman@austintexas.gov.

  • A document created by City of Austin Planning and Zoning Department staff has been posted on our nscna.org wesite. You will find the document at this link: PlanningProcessGuide

    It summarizes the input staff received from participants at the first five planning process meetings. Also in the Planning Process Guide are a draft of North Shoal Creek’s Future Land Use Map (FLUM) on page 22 and, on page 24, the draft FLUM annotated with participants’ comments from meeting #5.

    Our 6th planning process meeting is Saturday, April 22nd, from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM in the cafeteria at Pillow Elementary School. We’ll be reviewing our draft FLUM, character districts, and transition zones. We also hope the meeting will be an opportunity to check that staff has correctly understood what stakeholders have told them and that stakeholders have understood what staff has told us.

    Please review the Planning Process Guide before coming to Meeting #6. If you don’t have time to review the entire document, please look at the maps on pages 22 and 24. They’ll be the major topic of the meeting.
